Past Triennials

The Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki has a long history in presenting substantial exhibitions of contemporary New Zealand and international art. Building on the experience and success of this the Gallery launched the inaugural Auckland Triennial in 2001 in association with partner venues. Since then the Triennial has shown 70 artists, from 14 different countries. It has introduced a wide range of work and media to over 30,000 visitors. The highlight of New Zealand's contemporary art calendar the Triennial is not just a exhibition, including a symposium, substantial publication, public performances and events. In 2007 turbulence is proud to be the key visual arts event of the Auckland Festival, AK07, Auckland's biennial arts festival.
